«This years special Festival Artist is the baroque-violinist Bjarte Eike, that today is based in Copenhagen and is a member of Concerto Copenhagen. Judging from the flow of people attending – and the enthusiasm among them during his concerts – one of which deals with something as rare as classical improvisation – he has something close to idol status in Bergen – and understandably enough; because like many other Norwegian musicians he radiates a riveting awareness of pushing himself and the music out and beyond the ramp, a combination of old-style fiddler and modern star attitude, that seen through Danish eyes only can fascinate.» - Read more
